Fall and especially October are one of my favorite times of year and I love doing gigs around this time of year. With a little chill in the air by the time I leave the venue and just the whole vibe of Halloween approaching always makes for a good time and especially at one of our favorite places to play, Hot Spot.
After being off for the last couple of weeks it felt good to get back on stage again. We'd had a great rehearsal earlier in the week & it felt like everyone was firing on all cynlinders so I was looking forward to the show. I love that even after all these years I still get a rush of excitement as I'm heading towards a show and feeling the energy build, and this time was no exception. I was saying to one of my other bandmates yesterday that the adrenaline you get from being on a stage is the best drug out there in my opinion. Nothing like it!
We got the chance to showcase some new tunes again this time around, such as “Dancing Days” from Led Zep, & “Blue Jeans” by Silver Tide that both got great reception & got peeps dancing on the floor. That's another thing about Rock Inc. that I've always appreciated & I think that our fans do as well that we like to keep throwing new songs at the wall so to speak & see what sticks & it makes for a great variety in the shows. Ya never know from one show to the next which songs your gonna get! Speaking of the fans the Rock Inc. faithful or “Rock Brigade” as we've come to call them as of late once again did not disappoint! They were out in force & making alot of noise, which always spurs us on more as well. I also wanted to give a shout out to Mike Buckley from Backwoods Band Support that came out to hang with us! We always appreciate Mike and his team's support & for spreading the word & helping to support so many talented acts throughout St. Louis! And of course many thanks to Mike French and everyone at Hot Spot for always making us feel so welcomed & right at home.
So all in all it was a great night. It was good to be back in action, and to see all of our peeps again. We'll get to do it all over again at Hot Spot in a few weeks, but for now it's on to Borgetti's!
