In 2016 I had the pleasure of seeing Loreena McKennitt live for the first time, and it was such a beautiful experience! I was fortunate enough afterwards also to get to meet her and chat briefly. She is one very ethereal and spiritual lady! She just had an aura emanating from her I thought. Very inspirational. I've since gotten to see her in concert in Indianapolis a couple of years ago and can't wait until she tours the states again. Her concerts are a very positive vibe!
Every now and again you get to meet people who inspire you. One of my favorite Rock bands of the last few years is Rival Sons. This was from a few years back after one of their concerts their guitarist Scott Holiday and vocalist Jay Buchannan just basically walked up to us and we got to chat for a few and take a couple pics. These guys are extremely personable and love spending time with their fans. Very humble and talented guys and I'm glad I've gotten to meet them and talk with them several times over the last almost 15 years now.
Another of my favorite meditative spots not too far from home is a quiet little lake tucked away behind a church I found while looking for a park that I spent time in growing up. There's a walkway that will take you around the entire lake with benches places throughout and a gazebo at one end. Perfect place to spend some time with nature.
One of my favorite places to visit not too far from home is a shrine known locally as "The Black Madonna". A series of religious statues that was built by an order of Franciscan Monks I believe somewhere around the late 1800's early 1900's. There is a pathway that will take you around past all the various statues. I've always found it a peaceful place and actually used to go there with friends years ago and sneak in in the middle of the night just to sit in the fields and meditate. Quite powerful!
