Yesterday we made our return to K.T.'s for the first time in awhile. it's not very often that we do Friday shows but I was up for it as it's always a great way to start the weekend. Sometime's the crowds can be a little iffy to on Fridays as to how of one your gonna get, but we didn't need to worry about that!
I was more concerned about if I was gonna be able to keep up physically. Last week I was finally able to get a cortisone shot done to help with my back issues, but it had been a long slow week after & I was wondering if I was gonna be able to move the way I wanted to onstage. Fortunately the rock gods we're looking down upon us because I was able to discover pretty quickly that I could, so I most definitely did! Lol. There was also a lttle technical issue to overcome in that one of the plugs for an adapter decided to crap out on me as I was setting up. BUT, this is one of the reasons I carry multiple basses to shows in case of something like this to where I had to tune one of them down to accomdate certain songs.
It felt like it didn't take us long to hit our stride last night musically which is always good. All the newer tunes like Love Song, Wheel In the Sky & Lights all went over really well, & we premiered our cover of Van Halen's “Women In Love” which also went over very well. As I had said it turned out that the crowd was really great last night & we had a pretty packed room there for most of the night, which is the best you can hope for.
It was also a really great night in that I had a dear old friend show up that I hadn't seen in years so it was great getting to reconnect for awhile in between sets. At the end of the night I was definitely tired but my heart was full. Full of gratitude for being able to still do this thing, share it with great people, and just full of the music. Next week it's onward back to Borgetti's!
